Three things I know for certain:

1. There are no European standards (yet) for gas installations in vehicles of all kinds. Well, there might be, but they have not yet been transferred to local laws by the member countries. So what might be legal in one country might as well be illegal in another country.

2. In France it is not allowed to use any gas appliances while driving. That is the reason why many French motorhomes have engine heat exchangers as a standard. And anyway, what does it mean in France if something is not allowed? Wink

3. In Germany all gas appliances fitted in a motorhome must be certified for use while driving. And they may be used while driving. This is however different for caravans!

Funny thing in Germany is that this rule is even valid for the hob. So a hob for a motorhome (other than for caravan) must have it's rings firmly screwed to their base in order to prevent them from falling off when in use while driving. On the other hand you have to keep the roof vent open while cooking, which is not allowed while driving. And of course you have to be seated with seat belts fastened, so cooking while driving is allowed and not allowed at the same time. That's German legislation. Shocked

But anyway, I would not dare to cook while driving.

Best Regards,
Gerhard

I like the idea of strapping your woman to the cooker. Smile Sounds like heaven. Trust the Germans to invent something so practical. Shocked Take your girlfriend for a trip round the Alps and they provide a device for strapping your girlfriend to the cooker. Smile Is there fixing points next to the sink too ? It'll never happen in England ! Wink

No thanks!

In our love8 I am the chef!!! (Not always the boss, as the German meaning of "Chef" would suggest Shame on you )

But anyway, she still prefers me either on the driver's or the navigator's
seat. Better not tell her about your idea.

Best Regards,
Gerhard

We had same problem in the rear of m/home so went wo a "bus" scrap yard and got an old heater matrix from under a bus seat, make sure the fan runs on 12v. Took the hose of the m/home heater joined it to pipe run under van to rear through bus heater and back to van heater. Ran fan from switch from liesure battery. Worked well, turned down heat in cab (bliss) and still have heat in rear.
