I have a Spanish mobile which is alot cheaper when I'm in Spain. I did by a French sim card but as any credit applied only lasts a month and not carried over if unused find that not so good. The credit applied to the Spanish sim stays there until I use it up.

I do now have the Vodafone Passport added to my UK mobile Sim. This works out alot cheaper as you pay 75p connection charge and then your usual rates which for me was payt smartstep. After 3 mins my calls were 5p. I certainly noticed the difference.

Now though I have a contract mobile as well but I have added the vodafone passport to that as well so that I can use my anytime minutes.

Adding the vodafone passport was easy on the payt just dialed 555 or was it 5555? anyway just follow the instructions and its done.

Hi there again

Whether it be due to inertia or just tightness in laying out money, I've decided to hold off on the roaming sim card for now. We are away to the canaries for a week and have decided to go back to using the onetel calling card from land lines - we get outgoing calls at 29p a minute. If anybody wants us they can text us on the mobile & we'll call back. I think I would rather be out of touch rather than be available all the time!
