Just wait until you play with High Speed Movies! Set it to 480 fps or less for reasonable quality and you need loads of light. 1000 fps quality is pretty hopeless but some interesting movies on Youtube taken at this framerate. Low light capabilities are really good. If you phone Fuji they will send a printed manual for free 0844 5532322.
For those inspired to buy one there is a new version HS20 due out in March so HS 10 bargains to be had soon???
Blimey Dougie, Debbie said had we known you were going to stay up that late after we dropped you off at the campsite we would have hung around and had a look at the others pics you mentioned while we were out to dinner.....

Great evening, thanks.........
It was indeed - I couldn't sleep for excitement thinking about that steak.
Looks good , I just picked up a Fuji F72 EXR from Jessops for £49. Same as the F70 apart form Piano Black finish. On Amazon the F72 is £172 so a big bargain
Have HS10 also.
Previously always had Canon and have had S2 1S and S3 1S. My son also has an S2 1S. All of these have suffered from the same problem which is the motor drive for the zoom lens. So I set out not to buy a new camers with a motor driven zoom. Hey Presto the HS10. But the menu,s are structured differently to the Canon and its taking me a while to become familiar with it. The optics are good - but not a crisp as the Canons in my opinion. Nice camera though.
The othes lesson I learnt was to only buy cameras that will take both re-chargeable cells and ordinary AA cells. A tad important when in the bush!
Hi,
that looks an impressive camera and hopefully should be available at a good discount soon
I've had a Fuji S5700 for a couple of years which was a bargain at the time but always felt the optical quality wasn't too good especially purple fringing. It was bad in low light and sometimes the auto focus was a PITA when taking close-ups of flowers etc.
I've just started looking for a replacement and have been considering a zoom compact eg the Panasonic TZ8 or TZ10 which has good reviews and is handier for carrying around.
Now I'm torn as the HS10 certainly looks impressive especially that zoom range although I've generally managed with a 10x zoom and rarely used the full telephoto but the max wide angle looks good as well.
As Clive said the use of standard AA batteries in the Fuji bridge cameras is a plus.
Steve
PS was that a 737-300 or -400?
sadly another ex aircraft spotter! I still always look up when a plane flies over and still got my old Ian Allen books with Connies and Viscounts crossed off as I lived near Heathrow (or virtually "at" in the school hols)
