Hi
I've got an 2010 Autoquest 180 (Peugeot Boxer). What should I do to upgrade my basic radio to something with mp3 or at least aux-in?
Should I go to a dealer or to halfords or somewhere else (nr Manchester)? Or is there a radio model that is particularly easy to fit myself? I notice that the aperture isn't a standard DIN size so I'll need some trim if I don't get a Peugeot -specific unit.
I've literally just come in from fitting This Sony GT33U into my Fiat Ducato.
It was £62.99 from Amazon inc delivery and the illumination colour matches the Fiat Dashboard (orange with white display). It has a 3.5mm AUX In as well as a USB connection In so you can load up MP3's onto a USB memory stick and play them through the device.
Don't buy the newer version which is promoted by Amazon (the CDX-GT35U) - the screen is backlit rather than being LED and looks terrible and is too bright at night. I don't know why they changed it.
I've had one before, it's a great head unit and fitting was done in under 5 minutes - depending on what is fitted at the moment and how you remove it (if it's a Fiat one, it'll just be four holes - I used small nails.) You don't need any additional connections or wiring - everything is included.
If you want it to be on 'all the time' (so you can use it when parked up) simply unplug the 'red' wire from the loom and connect into the spare 'yellow' socket before fitting it back.
You can also buy a Sony IR Remote which is compatible with this unit (RMX114) so you can control it from the back of the van!
We have a Mirage ona Peugeot Boxer and had all the work done, including new speakers at K and M acoustics, Wigan www.kandmacoustics.co.uk 01942 820174.
To change the radio is quite a simple thing to the right minded person. I would be careful of Halfords as they just plug and play and are not very good if theres any problems.
If you have any radio in mind PM me i can give you a quote for fitting at your home.
Phil

The Boxer comes with steering wheel controls for the radio, which I think that the Ducato does not. Would this Sony radio be compatible with the steering wheel controls?

I am about to change my radio on the Peugeot Boxer and I like the look of the SONY CDX-GT33U mentioned above.
I am prepared to purchase the leads mentioned by Addie but I wondered whether the mute button on the steering wheel will work with this set up. Any ideas?
