Had a problem with steering wheel vibrating at low speed and vibration when turning.Found power steering reservoir below minimum level and fluid running down back of front tyre.
Took it to the garage and a hose as been damaged by contact with something, will know more tomorrow when I collect it from the garage. Its 2007 ford transit 2.2 so check your power steering hoses.

That was unlucky, glad you are able to get it sorted. Is it a design fault?

My motorhome is back from garage now and problem fixed.
The problem was low pressure fluid pipe which is solid was broken on seal and letting fluid out.The garage says it would be better designed with a flexible hose as this is done with movement of engine.
A common problem and they have had transits in with as little as 2k on the clock, mine as 11700 on clock
There was recall in 2008 for the high pressure hose fracturing and causing a fire when fluid went on the exhaust.
Rung ford uk trying to get some money out of them for cost they will let me know on tuesday. The warranty as run out on my vehicle

I have just found a leak to my 76k FWD mk7 transit p.steering hoses. 2 run in the offside (drivers) wheel arch & 1 of these is leaking but has no signs of damage. I noticed some intermittent stiffness in steering. Heard about the fire issue recall (which was for a different part of the circuit) & I see on VOSA site another recall for transit p.s. problem for oct 07 production. Mine is early '07 so not included in that.
Haven't inspected mine v closely yet (it's dark out!) so it could be a stress/vibration fracture in the steel pipe where it is clipped to bodywork or where the steel is connected / sealed to the flexi rubber pipe.
Full flexi pipe would seem to be the solution
As mine's also out of warranty how did you get on with the warranty claim?
