Could anyone who has the new range of Avtex TV'S help me please in regard of the USB recording and playback facility. The following I find unclear in the manual.

Can you playback movies etc which you have recorded on say your pc.I could on my previous Avtex but on the new one although the folders and files show the avi files have a red cross through them and won't play.

On the PVR side is there a maximum HDD which can be used or do have to use a USB stick?Again is there a maximum size?

Finally can you interchange between sticks you wish to record to via the PVR and sticks which you only want to store movies?

Thanks for any help.

I have to say, whilst the viewing angles etc. are good on the Avtex, I am disappointed with the sound level and the lack of ability to play multiple formats.

We had a flip down lcd/dvd that went with the last van as it was permanently installed and whilst not cheap at the time of purchase (LCDs were expensive) it quite literally played any format thrown at it.

I find that the Avtex is VERY fussy about the files it will play. For those that don't download it's not an issue, for me it is a BIG one.

The thing that is confusing me is that my previous Avtex played everything I tried from a USB stick. The new one doesn't recognise the same files on the same stick!,yet the user manual is exactly the same in regard to playing USB media files.

Maybe they've changed their software? I haven't had an Avtex before but it doesn't play my USB files that the previous TV did. As you have discovered, it lists them so "sees" them, just won't play them. Very odd!

I hope that's not the case because I will be a little peeved!Surely they know a lot of people today carry their media files on a USB stick. Why change so that the new TV'S are less USB friendly than previous models.
