Firstly,"They are only a very good aid,and are not foolproof". Reversing sensors came fitted to a motor we had,magic!,however,we were told by the salesman that rev/sing up to glass doors,shop windows,was to be done with caution as they "Looked through the glass?",and may not sense the distance very well. You do get VERY used to using them,and very soon listen for the "Beep" when selecting rev/gear to say they were activated, i liked them so much,when we traded in,i had them fitted to the next motor.
As to the make,you will have to do some market research,i had them fitted at a car dealership who i trust,having bought four motors off of them and never a problem.We have had two m/homes with cameras fitted,these are very good and you can see what you may hit,in an ideal world i would have both fitted,not because i cannot reverse,simply because it is another bit of saf
ety kit that works.

PS. I am on record on a couple of posts saying,"If in doubt,get out and have a look",even with these aids,i would still say/do the same,as said above,they are only a very good aid.
Reversing sensors or reversing cameras are only as good as what they look at. My van had a camera already fitted when bought it. It's great as I can reverse to within 2" of what I can see, and that is the issue.
Case 1 - I visited my cousins for Newyears and reversed up to his house with my camera on, and him waving me in watching the rear. I stopped 3" from his house. Then when I got out we both looked up and had forgotten the overhang of the porch! There was 1/2" clearance with the top side of the van. I have never seen him go white before.
Case 2 - a friend of mine had a new Toyota with reversing sensors. She reversed up to a brick wall which was lower than the sensors and damaged the car in the first week.
I have pre-fitted reversing sensors which take me to within 12" of any object at the same level. Gutters and overhangs are NOT detected!
There are times when someone may wish to be helpful and 'see me back' to a particular point. To do this, they insist on walking almost behind the motorhome, totally oblivious to the fact that I'm getting deafened by the scream of the sounder as the sensors detect the legs of the helpful one !!
But I really do like having them.

Go for a camera, far more accurate, unless the sun is shining on it, but our has a mike in it so voice directions can be heard from the rear of the MH quite clearly.
Sensors can be wildly inaccurate, depending on where fitted and what's lurking behind you, a friend has some and they don't sense some things, hedges etc.
We have both camera and sensors fitted to our current van as we did to our previous one. I fitted them myself, taking care of how/where to fit them. This is the sensor type I fitted both times and I am very happy with the performance. As others say, you do need to be aware of what you are reversing toward and use common sense. Our neighbour runs a taxi/mini-bus firm and has wiped off the rear window of his expensive "executive" mini-bus when not looking out for the overhang on his garage. VERY expensive!

I have fitted them to my last three cars and my last two vans, and they are absolutely great,BUT they must be used with common sense and I always have a look at what's behind me before reversing, particularly with the Vans (having bent a couple of Bike racks).
I used the cheap simple ones(very easy to fit) off Ebay, I think it was called Galactic Warehouse, Sevenoakes (I know sounds dodgy!) but there service was great. and the Sensors only cost about 20quid.
The biggest hurdle you have to cross is drilling holes in your nice van
I have also fitted them for our two elderly widow neighbours, and they sing there praises every time we chat.
I have reversing sensors, camera and a pair of walkie-talkies, and I still get out and check!! You can't be too careful with those sneaky French trees.
The reversing sensors I fitted come in a self-adhesive ribbon form and fit inside the bumper. They are a piece of cake to fit and work very well. I had to mount them a couple of cms lower than recommended, but became an advantage as they also warn me of upward sloping ground. A boon with a long overhang.
