Not having the cash for an automaic system and wishing wishing to limit the van height to 3.0m I purchased one of these systems and have just got round to installing it.
I has taken about 6 hours, with quite a few tea breaks, and seems to work just fine, but I am wondering (somewhat belatedly!) whether anyone has any long term experience ith this system.
As can be seen from the pics. it does stow very neatly

We have the Camos Flat Sat plus, because we don't have that much room on our roof and it fits really neatly.
It's great, been far north of Scotland signal, every time, spent a few weeks last summer in Brittany and Normandy and got a good strong signal quickly every time there too.

Further on this; although the "blurb" suggests that skew angle is not significant in the UK, I have just set the skew to -12 degrees and there is a small increase in signal strength and a significant increase in signal quality but the big gain from the practical aspect is that it now somewhat less sensitive to azimuth and very much less sensitive to elevation.
The only downside is that it doesn't look quite so neat when stowed

I also have the tilting version. I found a small Christmas cracker compass about the size of a 2p piece in the useful box and stuck it onto the rotating bezel with a dab of thixafix. It just clears the pull down pointer and gives a really quick location of compass points to swing the dish to.

I had the plus model fitted at Dave Newells two weeks ago.The first
time I used it,it only took about 60 seconds to get tuned in
(brilliant),hell of a lot quicker than my tripod set up,which I shall
keep in the van in case of trees etc.We are off down to the South
of France in June so lets see how it performs there.Might have to
use the skew facility.

Ive been amazed at the difference it's made in Bideford
I think the issue is that although it may not be needed to get a satisfactory signal in the UK, it does open up the operating window, making alignment less critical and therefore easier

We had the standard Camos crank-up fitted last year after considering the Plus model.
Correct us if we are wrong but don't you have to climb up onto the roof to adjust the skew angle? That was the reason we didn't bother as we don't have a ladder on the back of the M/H and I guess the majority of M/Homes don't.

You are correct but the the setting I have used (-12 degrees) will be good for the whole of the UK and won't need changing so it is a one-off job here.
However, if you get on ok without using skew that just fine
but I guess that one may need to set skew accurately at each location in places like Spain & Italy where the signal is more marginal
Others will be better qualified than I to comment on that.
