Hi All
I have a Mobitron colour reversing camera,I have had the van 4 years and ever since I have had the van the camera only works in black and white.
Is there any way I can check to see if it is the camera or the monitor that is faulty.
As I live in darkest Spain there is no one here that I can meet up with to try to change the monitor to try it.
Thanks

I have come across some patient people in the past but you exceed them by far.
Am I right in thinking that after having the "Colour" camera fitted 4 years ago, you did not check from the supplier that it was a colour camera and that if it was, why was it not working? Guarantees is one word that comes to mind.
Anyhow, I am not saying that this is the case but a normal colour camera can go to black and white if the socket is not fully pressed home; your connection socket will be under the dash usually, with possibly an additional one at the back where the cable comes into the van. These days most monitors and cameras are colour (but not all). Finally is the night camera working? Could it be that only the night camera is working.
Most auto-electricians should be able to either fix your unit or tell you that your "colour" camera isn't.
It is of course possible that you need a new camera (if you want colour). Under warranty mine failed, an auto electrician tested the system and found the monitor was at fault. I received a new monitor and it still did not work, so sent the monitor back and had a new camera, this solved my problem but it does show that even the proffesionals with their test equipment can get things wrong. Good luck!
Alan
