Hi Folks,

New to the forum, new to Dethleffs, not new to MHs.

I've just discovered the row of gas control taps so now the cooker and fridge are working, hooray!

I'm still trying to work out why the taps aren't running. They were working before I accidentally drained the boiler so it may just be taking forever to refill but not sure, any advice on this would be very welcome.

The fire doesn't work at all. I can hear it sparking but nothing happens. I guess I'll just have to pull it apart and investigate. Again, advice welcome.

Also I think the wrong type of windscreen wiper motor is installed as the resting position is with the blades upright, not flat. I can live with it but would appreciate comments from anyone that has seen this to confirm if it is the wrong type of motor or if there is something I can do to alter it's operation.

TIA x

Hi and welcome to MHF.

Unfortunately I am not technical.mechanical enough to answer any of your queries, but just wanted to welcome you to MHF forum. Someone will be along soon with the answers to your queries, as the experience and knowledge of your fellow subscribers is second to none, and you willget the answers to all and any queries you have. Water's working!

Kept running it for a few minutes each time I popped out to the van and last time it just sprang straight to life. Makes me think there's some benefit to leaving it between attempts, like it continued to trickle through to somewhere after the pump was off.

Trying to figure out the best solution to the horrible roundabout blind spot now. From other posts it seems that an extra external mirror is the way forward. Unfortunately I don't have a handy mirror mounting bar like trucks have or an overhanging luton so will have to figure out some creative extension to the existing mirror mount.

Thanks for the warm welcome Smile

Update on the LHD roundabout blindspot that might help others, especially with A class vehicles...

I just took down the wide-angled rear-view mirror and mounted it updside-down on the corner of the dash and can now see exactly the field I need to for roundabouts. The rear-view was useless for me anyway as I couldn't see anything useful out of the back window and I have a reversing camera.

Man I love simple solutions.

I just want to highlight that if anyone knows about the gas fire side of things and could post some info to stop me blowing myself up, I'd be most grateful.

As I mentioned before, it clicks away but never gets round to lighting. I'm holding myself back from dismantling it in the hops that someone can offer some advice.

TIA x

Hi Camilla

Welcome to MHF.

Boy are you having fun out there.

Sorry not technical at all so cant help with the fire other than to say I assume that you have turned the gas on or that you have checked the gas cylinder Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes but this will bump you to the top and hopefully somebody will come along who is more helpful than me.
