This may have been on Forum before but I cant find it. I have Autosleeper/Marquis Dorset on Peugeot Boxer van base. I confess I've had it for a year from new and only just got round to checking wheel change kit etc. I cant work out how to lower the spare wheel. In the Peugeot manual it has a pic and says ' Insert Socket A in the hole and unscrew the bolt' etc. I can see a hole in the top of the plastic on the rear bumper but the Black socket will not fit far enough into it. By black socket I mean a a black tube approx 250mm long with 5 sided 'socket' at one end and bigger 6sided 'socket' at the other end. I am not generally clueless but this has me beat unless there is a bit of kit missing. I'm going away at the weekend and believe in Sod's Law so help /advice please.

Please don't make duplicate posts at intervals.
You may make a reminder post in your own thread to bring it up the list but not too frequently.

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much. (Oscar Wilde)
I have an Autosleeper Rienza but on a ford chasis so can only be of limited help.
The ford hand book showed a picture of the fold up crank (for the jack) being used to lower the wheel by inserting through the hole in the bumper, but the diameter was to large to fit.
The solution turned out to be to use the wheel brace which has a socket on the short arm and a screwdriver tip on the other longer arm (for removing wheel trims).
The screwdriver end turns the mechanism and lowers the tyre on its wire. Not a great fit and would not inspire confidence, but it works.
You may have to try a lateral thought process to your own van.
All the best.

You say that you have not checked your spare wheel or tried changing it. here is a link to a previous post that i made on the subject. The whole thread is worth reading.
I only remembered it after i sent you my first reply.
Alan,
What you have to do is measure the length of the of the supplied unwinding tool,..then using for instance a knitting needle or a piece of rod, push the needle or rod down the hole in the bumper until it touches the release mech nut,..you will then be able to measure the difference in length,..hopefully you will find a local garage or workshop that will be able to cut your tool in half and add the difference..PLUS.. 150mm.
What has happened is that on the base vehicle the hole into which you insert the tool would have been at the vans floor level..after its conversion to a MH the converters have not lenthend the tool to suit the now raised body.
It looks as though I have been supplied with the wrong part originally.
Davy - thanks for link - the Peugeot is a bit different from Ford
Phil - its also different from Fiat - I wish Peugeot had a similar graphic for the Boxer. On the Boxer the entry hole is at the rear(!)
Les - my van has indeed got a raised floor but that doesnt appear to be the problem as the entry point is approx 400mm in from the off side in the top plastic rim of the rear bumper. Entry is from the rear on the horizontal plane but the tool I have is too big (this is not a wind-up).
I got frustrated and went into a local Peugeot garage and after looking at parts lists the guy eventually got a tool from another van which worked. I have ordered the correct one to keep me safe and also spoken to Autosleepers tech centre who will hopefully confirm this tomorrow. It appears that when the conversions are done all the toolkits are taken out of the vans and then replaced before delivery. Seems like I got the wrong one!. I have written all this in case anybody else has a similar problem. The 'wrong' tool is tubular and black. It has a 6sided end which fits into the wheel brace socket. The other end is 5-sided.
The correct tool is solid and shiny and looks like a long straight Allen key. One end fits the wheel brace and the other is 6 sided and fits into the hole on the wheel dropping mechanism.
Thanks again for replies.
Simples!!
