About to do an oil change and I'm getting a bit confused with the oil?????
The manual states 15w/40 but reading other info found on the web 5w/30?
What are you putting in yours?

15/40 will be ideal for use now and the summer and 5/30 is better for the winter. It is as simple as that.

If you think you'll be flogging the engine in hot weather or maybe extending the next oil change go for an expensive synthetic and if you think you are going to do something in between go for a part synthetic.

Stick to 15/40 or possibly 10/40 semi synthetic.

If you go for thinner oil or fully synthetic it will get past your crankshaft seals and could cost you a clutch replacement at worse case scenario.

I think there is a chance of oil leakage with any grade of oil if your oil seals are worn especially if you overfill. Slightly under fill is better than overfill.

Stick to what the manual says and use a 15/40. There's plenty of choice and most 15/40's are diesel specific. I am currently using Morrisons own brand.

I was going to say that it seems expensive but it's a good price for 10 ltrs.
Not that it makes any difference as it will be good oil but I think Texaco must be ending their sale of oil or something. I bought some Texaco 2 stoke oil (for use in the diesel fuel) for only £2 a litre as my local wholesaler was offloading it.
