I appreciate that this section is really for members who have passed away but I mention Amy for this reason.
I went to her funeral yesterday as she died of motorneuron disease as her father (my brother in law) did some 3 or 4 years ago. She was just 32.
The funeral was an eco one and I must say I was very impressed. See ...
http://www.green-burial.co.uk/ which is self explanatory.
Feeling a bit down this morning, (an understatement), I read through some of the responses to the posts I made when my Father and then later, my Mother died and the responses I had from members on here were such a comfort just reading through.
So really the point of the post is the importance of this Topic as it is not simply current for a week or so but for years after as I have found.
It really is a place for the bereaved to browse through the posts and get real value from the concerns, sympathy and understanding of the motorhome community.
Pusser, it is always so very very sad when someone so very young dies. We ask ourselves constantly, why did this have to happen.
The only comfort I can give in a situation like this, is that Amy was needed elsewhere, she obviously has so much to give that her life here on this plain was not being fulfilled, and because of that she had to move on.
Memories are wonderful things, and celebration of the life that she did have in her 32 years should bring to the forefront of your mind, loads of memories. Enjoy them, and do not feel sad, rejoice that she was able to be loved and cared for by her family and friends for 32 years, and she will of course still be loved, even though she is not physically here.
Pusser, so sorry to hear of the loss of Amy. Always so sad when someone dies so young - not in the order of things - as my Gran said when she lost my uncle in his 40's
We have just returned from a rally where pancake day celebrations raised over £1000 for research into Motorneuron disease. A members wife passed away from the disease and the pancake day is now an annual event. Such a terrible disease.
Your happy memories will come through but "the pain now is part of the happiness then" C S Lewis
My Brother in Law died of Motor Neuron disease ten years ago at 60. But it was such a terrible last 18 months of his life that we think he was helped to go before losing all dignity and movement.
RIP.
Ray.
