The farm shed where my motorhome is stored was broken into in the early hours of tuesday morning they stripped the owners land rover to death. They broke into the safe and got my motorhome keys they took my radio and some bits and pieces they also forced the safe but there was nothing in it ,i wish i had left it open but never thought. There was a range rover parked in front of mine with no keys available otherwise it might have gone.Easter break to Northumberland now cancelled as we are bringing the motorhome to our house to check everything out and do some repairs. At the time we didn't know if they had taken our spare keys as we weren't allowed in the motorhome until forensics had attended. As the day rolled on (incident reported 6 30 am) still no police to which our insurance company were getting worried as they wanted motorhome taking away to have locks changed we were then told by police we were not a priority Evil or Very Mad so we went to the shed looked through the motorhome and found the keys in the wardrobe.Taken in this raid land rover stripped, quad bike, chain saws,my things,a generator, loads of tools motorbike was ready to go but they musn't have had room for it this apparently is not to be categorised as a priority Surprised .Forensics finally turned up at 6 30 pm the young lady got short shrift but i did apologise to her after.

Sorry to hear of this. Hope you are soon sorted out.

Farm Land Rovers are targetted often around this area so perhaps that is what they were after.

Not wishing to minimise your break in but I have always advocated leaving keys in any safe and only documents for insurance and registration in case of fire.

Yes it could always be worse but the feeling of being violated and having to repair and restock is enough.

Sorry Ray.

Sorry this has happened to you, Dave. It could have been so much worse though. Thank goodness you still have the van and most of your property intact. I wonder if the SOCO woman was the same one who came to us a couple of weeks ago.

Have a look at this security product, StranDNA, Ive just become an approved installer. It can be used on vehicles.
It may not have stopped the toerags getting in but a good bit of kit if suspects are stopped by the police.

As a locksmith I attend alot of break ins.
SOCO are stretched to the extreme so it will always take a few hours for them to attend.
