We've accepted an offer on the house this week and I've given formal notice at work - I will be unemployed on 3 June and homeless a couple of weeks later.

Then starts the fun - a year (or more!) exploring the UK and Europe in our 1990 Hymer B694. Spending the Easter weekend sorting out the van (fun) and then the next few weeks sorting out insurance, banking, storage etc (not so fun).

I can barely think straight, I'm so excited!

Good for you. We have been away for two years now having a great time, don't want to go home at all. Enjoy your trip.

We are retired (in our 50s) and didn't sell up though, not sure I would be happy with nowhere to go back to should we need it, Alan.

How exciting. We've just returned from our year away, so we're wildly jealous of anyone just starting a big trip. We've posted all about it on our blog. Boy there's a lot to sort out on returning though - cars to insure and tax, MOT to get done on the van, utilities to get switched back on. We haven't even got as our own house yet as we have all the family first.

Hope you have as fab a trip as we did. enjoy every minute. It just flies by!

Lesley

How fantastic - I'm felling quite jealous actually. Everytime we go away in the MH I just don't want to go back. Wishing you a fantastic and exciting time, good luck with your adventures.

Steve,

If you look at the bottom of Lesley's post above, you should see the button linking to the blog.

You know John, I'd never noticed that button! I'd always put a link in my signature bit, but as I renewed my subs last week everything seemed to reset!
