As i was unsure of the life left in the 2 leisure batteries, I had them replaced this week at a reputable M'home garage.
Arrive at our rally and find that the Steca PR1010 control box shows an error code 7 : -
Battery voltage too
low.
Voltage <10.5 V or
<21.0 V
Check installation. Check battery
voltage, possibly recharge
battery manually. Consumer
connected directly to the
battery can deep-discharge
the battery.
I rang the garage and I was told the control box must have gone, trouble is I cant help wondering if they made an error or if it had gone and we hadnt noticed - we were on hook up last time out
The batteries held up over the weekend, lights tv etc and my husband put a tester on each battery from time to time and they were good.
Seems like I need a new box. wish I'd left well alone
I looked on the Steca website but couldnt find any useful info
Nothing to loose, try disconnecting both the solar panels and batteries from the controller. Leave disconnected for a few minutes then re-connect, batteries first, then solar panel.
You might be lucky and the microproccessor in the control has had a dikky fit and got itself confused.
If not then it is time to dip short arms into deep pockets.
Good advice from Martin, particularly note the order of connecting batteries and controller.
The controller can get confused if it is connected first, without being connected to the batteries, as it doesn't know whether it is connected to a 12V or 24V setup (if indeed this controller is suitable for both, which I don't know).
So, by removing the bateery to replace it this could have happened.
I too had an error code come up while touring in France last year. I contacted the supplier who phoned me back, giving me instructions how to reset my control box. Mine had apparently lost its setting for the type of batteries I was using (Gel or standard). A couple of minutes button holding and pushing and all has been well since.
Getting the information meant my supplier contacting his supplier to find an answer which was not obvious from the instructions supplied.
Good luck!
Alan
as others have suggested, the pr1010 MUST be connected to the battery bank before the solar panel to ensure it correctly selects 12v or 24v operation.

Anyone any ideas please?
As it shows such a low Voltage and yet your battery/batteries lasted all weekend I think it is that when they replaced the batteries they didn't disconnect the solar panel before connecting them back up and as has been suggested the incorrect voltage was set on your controller.
You need to do as has been suggested, disconnect your solar panel and reconnect in correct order.

Our electrician neighbour disconnected the panel as the batts were getting a bit OTT, then had a look later, once we downloaded the manual, and found that it had reverted to the gel setting.
