For some reason I dont seem to be able to sort this one. I keep looking into getting a panel, get all sorts of advice and confusing links to ebay and never seem to get any further forward.

What I would like is an 80-100 panel, regulator, mounting brackets and an LED thing on the wall to show how its doing.

I have been quoted £750 fitted at a supplier 120 miles away which also involves a load of diesel and an overnight.

People keep telling me you can get it all for £200 and do it yourself. Well firstly I cant do it as I have Arthritis and cant get on the roof and Im also too heavy to get on the roof. Not to mention the fact I know nothing about this sort of thing.

So the question is where can I get this kit and get it fitted within 50 miles of Scotch Corner on the A1 for hopefully quite a bit less than £750?

If any memebers fancy getting stuck in I would be happy to pay you.

I need it done by the end of the month as I am off to Europe.

Cheers
Barry

All the kit is on ebay
First you have to establish where it would go on your roof and the available space so you can decide what will fit. nearly all sellers on ebay provide the dimensions of the panels
Aluminium angle is sold all over
Sikaflex 512 less than £11 delivered ebay
cable entry gland
regulator price varies dramatically but within £60 for a very good one

EXAMPLE panel CHEAP!

I reckon Phil at Rhino would do you good fitting price if you had all the kit ready to put on?
Personally if you have room I'd put 2 80's up there

Thanks

Look like he does mobile fitting.

I think he may have contacted me before when I looked at this some time ago.

Is there anywhere that just sells a whole kit. Ie panel, brackets, regulator, all the cables and the digital display?

Im starting to think these claims of getting a panel installed for £200 a bit of a myth!

I dont thing anyone has got the parts as cheap as £200 and an LCD wall display will cost quite a bit.
I use the LCD display on my regulator to keep an eye on

If you're quoted £750 for an 80 watt installation you are being robbed

You will not get it fitted for £200 all inclusive Barry but you will get the kit for between £200 and £300.

I could talk to someone who would fit it for possibly another £200 if you like but it would mean you travelling maybe 100 miles

Just checked the original email from the supplier and it was The 90 Watt panel £595 fitted inc. VAT or 125 Watt for £750 fitted inc VAT.

So not as bad as I thought and they all seem about the same price if not more.

The company is leisuretech in Citheroe and I have used them before and they were good.

I just saw these figures banded about of £2-300 but clearly there is more to it than that. Just looking around the net I dont think I can get a 90 watt panel supplied and fitted for less than £600.

Cheers
BD

2 to 300 is parts and DIY but I'd want 2x80 panels at least for the lower quote. they probably buy their panels for more than you can get them
