New to this forum and indeed to Motorhoming, recently purchased a Elddis Eclipse, already to go, apart form the driver side wing mirror. I'ts the ball and socket type on extended arm, the metal plate that the ball swivels on has more or less disintegrated.
Any idea as to were I might pick one of these up, or do you feel it would be just a case of ringing scrap yards?, or is there a generic wing mirror that would do the job, I would intend to replace both anyway.
Any help or suggestions would be grateful, and thanks in advance.
Spoke to a guy on Ebay that has the Defender wing mirrors for sale and the "ball" is the same size as that on the Renault Trafic. So I have purchased a couple.
Thanks again Daniel for your suggestion, I will now be able to see whats behind me, (only kidding lol) haven't really driven without the mirrors.
I have come to this a bit too late it seems but I have a 1992 Master with the Britax mirrors and I replaced a broken one with one from a Land Rover parts supplier. My mirrors are larger than the original LR ones but the supplier I used sold non original larger mirrors. I just wanted the head but he had none in stock so I bought complete mirror on the arm. I had to remove the glass and retaining strip because when I undid the retainingg bolt for the ball / socket clamp, the inside piece fell into the mirror housing. My original mirror had a lump of 'sticky' holding the piece in place but the replacement didn't. I had a heck of a job getting the retaining strip back on because it seemed to have suddenly shrunk when I removed it. I put it in some warm water to soften it but that made it shrink more.
