Does anyone else have problems with water pouring down the side of the van underneath a standard fitted Fiamma Awning [MHF Link]? Not sure if there should be some sort of seal to stop water getting in above the actual awning housing. It is not coming through the roof material so is it getting underneath somehow or getting in from around the side of the housing and running along?
Any suggestions welcomed as still new to this lark.

Not sure how yours is fitted, but you can buy a weather strip called rainguard, which directs the water onto the canvas
On our mh,the awning is in a recess, and a different weather strip is fitted.

Hi,
As pointed out above the item you want ( a Rainguard) is made by Fiamma and is easily fitted into a groove on top of the casing. Try here http://www.agentfiamma.co.uk/

Agree with the previous posters other than the suggestion that it's "easily" fitted. I think a few of us will vouch from experience that they're a pig to fit...you need to jam it in inch by inch (*), and be confident that by the end your fingers will be bleeding from the nails. Worth it for the result, but warn the neighbours of some impending foul language.

If the awning box is fitted close enough to the van's side then a bead of sealant run along between box and van will solve the problem.

Rainguard now installed, with the help of some silicon lubricant. Hosepipe tests look promising. Thanks again for suggestion.
