Hi I am looking for a bike rack to fit an Autotrail Dakota 2005
the one with the spare wheel on the back and window above. any ideas where to get one from?????

I have a 2007 AutoTrail Mohican and if the rear of yours is the same as mine and I think it will be then at the moment there is no Omnistor rack available.

It has been discontinued following the redesign of the post 2009 range.

However, there are two other possibilities. Firstly, if your prepared to wait, Omnistor are working on a bracket system that will make it possible to fit the post 2009 rack. It's been going on about 2 months now but they say there is no timetable set out for completion.

The other option. If you have a towbar or don't mind fitting one then there is a range of towball mounted Bike racks available now. One in particular made by Thule that is mentioned quite a lot on here.

I have one but have yet to give it it's maiden outing altho I have fitted it and loaded our bikes on and I can say it does look the part and appears to be very sturdy.

I have a Arapaho 2010, and have just had a rack fitted last saturday by Todds in Preston. First class service. The only rack that will fit Autotrails with the spare wheel fitted to the rear panel, is an Omnistor two bike rack. It cost £250 plus two hours fitting time at £60 /hour. I can forward you details of fitting to an Arapaho but it will be different to your rear end.
I must say the rack looks very neat and is close fitting to the van. I can forward pics if you are interested.

Hi If you have a tow bar look at the witter bike rack thats the one that fits the landrover they do a cranked version you will see by the photo what i mean it is also in three pieces and a bracket stays fitted on the tow bar easy store.Worked fine on my dakota .
