My mobile contract is up on the 5th June, just before I go away.

Usually I haggle away with them until I get what I want. Currently on unlimited land line calls, unlimited internet, 700 min for £20 a month inc vat.

This time they said I had to go into a shop or order on line on the 5th June.

Nearest deal I can find is this one which interestingly includes 750MB of BT Openzone access which would be useful for Fon sites abroad.

Has anyone taken this deal or found a better one? I have to stay with Vodafone as its the only provider I can get a signal with where I live.

EDIT. Addie told me to use Quidco to get cash back so I created an account only to read of loads of people not getting their money. Anyone been succesful doing it this way?

SIM only - get 500MB of mobile internet, plus £60 of multimedia messages for free

A great value SIM only offer - for just £20.50 a month you get 900 minutes, 3000 texts, 500MB of internet data and 750MB BT Openzone Wi-Fi access. You'll also get 100 picture and video messages, worth up to £60 every month.

•12-month plan
•£20.50 a month
•900 minutes for calls to mobiles and landlines (starting 01, 02, 03) within the UK
•3000 standard UK texts
•500MB UK mobile internet data
•750MB BT Openzone Wi-Fi access
•100 UK picture/video messages

It's easy to connect with SIM only - just put our SIM into your phone, and you're away. You can even keep your existing number - so there's no need to update any of your contacts or miss a single call. And if you do have any questions, our online support team is right there to help.

Quidco is fine, but the small print applies, and it often says cannot be combined with another offer/ discount. So you can't squeeze the pips on Voda and then expect the Quidco discount as well. Voda will not process the Quidco discount in these circumstances.

Deal looks ok. Never had a problem with Quidco- it works well and I've had several £100s from them, the latest being a Sky deal @ £95 Quidco, £100 M&S Vouchers, free HD box and free installation for £19.50 a month. Bargain.

FWIW

I used Quidco, and have only had one cashback refused.

The most I've had was £150 from Orange when I took out a phone contract.

Like mentioned, don't be tempted to use two codes etc when buying through quidco, as they frequently stop you getting the cashback.

Sounds a good deal.
Does the BT openzone gubbins definitely work when abroad with the FON network?

Thanks guys

Ive never used quidco before but have created an account. Ive just realised though that the deal I posted I think is for a new account. Wont I have to go through upgrades otherwise if I order that I will just end up with a new sim.

The link in Quidco just takes me to the standard price plans page.

As far as I am aware the BT openzone also allows you access to FON sites. So with an antenna and a FON / BT login I should get access abroad when FON becomes available.

Its telling me when I log in to log back in in 2 days when there will be more deals available. I just bet that the deal I quoted will not be available to me or with a cash back.

Cynical? Me?

Just an update.

Couldnt get the deal I wanted through Quidco so in the end phoned Vodafone this morning and got a similar contract to what I mentioned earlier to include 0800, 0845 and 08700 numbers.

I was quite excited about getting the free BT Openzone wifi. I had been borrowing a friends login but was pleased to get my own.

However once I signed up and tried to logon I found out its only for use on your handset, not a laptop. I just assumed a BT Openzone login is a wifi login for anything.

As the iphone pretty much has to be sat on top of a wifi router to get a connection its pretty useless.

Just in case anyone is thinking of going Vodafone to get this service I thought you should know. Handsets only so as much use as a chocolate fire guard considering you get internet included anyway!

Typical Vodafone.
