Hi everyone

we have just purchased a dethleffs motorhome and although its amazing we don't really know what were doing! we spent the first night trying to work out the heating and water! there are so many things we would like to do such as attach a rack for a moped then buy a moped, then buy a safari residence we have the awning. I have tried surfing the web but no with no joy. Hopefully I will be able to post some topics and gain some insight from the experts...That means all of you..

Thanks
 Welcome

Hi there

Welcome.

I remember our first night away, 2008, In our Hymer, we were shown the ropes from some lovely 'old biddies' at the site we stayed at.

It's a great pastime enjoy it. We're now on our second van... always looking for the third.... Cool

What model/engine is your Detthy?

Welcome to MHF, you are obviously excited and can't wait to start enjoying this great past-time.
Some simple advice; slow down, ask one question at a time in some sort of logical order. You may find that some of your goals are not achievable with your first motorhome, but that is not that you have bought the wrong vehicle, it is more that you learn from experience.
Most motorhomers find that their first purchase has shortcomings that were never apparent at the time of purchase.
First point to mention is that the Dethleffs is a good quality motorhome and will give years of excellent service. If you quote the exact model whenever you ask a question, you are likely to find members with a matching vehicle who can assist from personal experience. Also you are likely to find members with similar layouts and similar chassis who can assist from their similar experience.

Just posted the following on another thread but you could do exactly the same in your motorhome.

I removed the large table in my B544SL, had a smaller one made to my dimensions, removed the Hymer table base and fixed a Fiamma one instead with their metal tube, together with the top fixing item which was attached to the new table. You then have a firm, removable table when you need it, gives you loads of space when you want to lounge around, and I can also it outside with the collapsible three legged device which again you get from Fiamma.

You will get a lot of good information from this forum and you will soon be able to work everything out and start enjoying it to the full!
