Hi Everyone

We are going to france in August in our motorhome and We would like to travel from paris down to the south we were thinking about stopping off on route in maybe dordogine (have i spelt this right?) but we did not want to travel to far from the motorway. Does anyone have any suggestions. Incidently which is the best route to take from Paris ?

Thank you

Greentea

Could I suggest typing the destination and departure point into Routefinder and seeing if that "floats your boat"! There are so many roads to take and it will depend on how long your there for, whether you want to use autoroutes, is there something on the way you want to see, or do you want to drive straight to your destination.

As for overnight stops, when you've found your route, work out how many times you want to stop and then either go on to www.campingcarinfos.com or beg, steal or borrow, "All the aires in France" and find a suitable aire. The last thing you will need is a campsite in France in a motorhome.

France in August will be busy so any aires you do choose will be getting full by mid afternoon, so plan to be there by then.

yes agreed as already been said and you can also find some good ideas where all of us members have visited over the years and posted reviews on many sites, aires etc.... try this link for a start

http://www.motorhomefacts.com/modules.php?name=Campsites&file=map

you will find it on the reviews tab at the top camp site maps if I recall all the best for august and paris will be a real pain to get through so if you don't need to visit paris then go via rouren etc you will find the toll roads quite expensive if I recall going to spain it cost us around £400.00 in tolls we are cat 4 with a twin axel we do try to advoid the tolls if we can.... theres plenty of postings about travel in france when you get used to useing the search button top left and click on the mag glass so you can use some key words....
