Hello all.

What a smashing site!

We've just this afternoon taken possession of our first Hymer. 1991 Peugeot based 654. Twenty years old and still looking pretty!

As it was a private sale we've found that the paperwork is in a bit of a mess, (not the legal stuff) but the handbooks for some of the onboard equipment are written in German. I hope that if Babelfish fails in the translation some good people here will be able to help us with getting what my wife has taken to calling 'Harvey', RV gettit, gettit, Rolling Eyes up and running.

Thanks for the welcome folks.

This is our third attempt at this mh lark. Commer Caravanette, (the Growler), years ago before the kids came along. Then a Ford Transit conversion, (Arbuthnot, from "Our bus not a van"), while we moved ourselves out to Portugal. Both suffered from the 'short bed syndrome'; I'm 6'2" and the beds were designed for dwarfs. I was impressed by the length of the beds in the Hymer and I guess that's what persuaded me that, now the kids have flown the nest, we should have another crack at it! And come up with yet another nickname.

Job for today. Find the label-maker and make little stick-on translations of every German label that I can find. Now, where's that Bedienungsanleitung? I'll leave you to look the word up! Very Happy

Chris
