Our Ford Duetto bought new 2007 has worked really well for us for 4 years with drive-away awning. Now looking for a bigger van so we can include grandchildren and dogs without the hassle of erecting awnings (old age does not come alone..)

We'd like to do this without parting with any huge sums of money and realise it would likely be an older van - not a problem really, as they last so well.

We also use the van as a second vehicle a few times a month so it would have to fit up our single track farm roads Surprised

Any advice on how to do this? Is it easy to sell/buy privately? Are there things we need to know about larger vans and sleeping arrangements like over-cab beds?

Grateful for any suggestions. Very Happy

Fitting a bigger van down a single track access shouldn't be a problem so long as you don't go for something huge. Our 7metre Hymer A class has been down a number of such roads without a problem, and other motorists tend to get out of the way when they see it coming Very Happy

Yup, I think we're decided on going bigger. Need to have a look at longer wheelbase rather than much wider though.

And guess it's not really possible to do this without spending some real money.

Ho hum...

Just to update this topic in case anyone is interested... we sold the 4 yr old Duetto through an agent who tends to charge high prices then almost immediately (in case we spent the money elsewhere) bought a 2yr old Autoroller 600 through another agent who charges lower prices - so far, very happy. Very Happy

All we need now is some decent weather so we can get away Smile
