Another thread

This thread gave me the germ of an idea which may have already been done.

Anyway, generally most of these van are pretty much the same, same boiler, loo, cooker, pump etc, even different ones tend to work the same way, Control panels being the exception as they tend to be bodged up by the MH builders.

So would it be worth getting a help file, maybe a PD File together which covers the basics all in one place.

I don't mind helping, but we've only had 3 vans so not had the variety of some of us peeps, but it might help some of the newbies, which we all were once a long time ago.

Just a thought.

It could be interesting to collect from all the masses of researched material, to colate some form of reference library of things like wiring diagrams, Thetford repair manuals, Ducato spares etc so that every time someone has a question, someone else does not have to search back through several years of threads where the answer has been repeated many times.
I have considered that this could be a massive task, or a smaller one if not going back over history, only building from the present inputs.

We fit all the usual appliances in our motorhomes and have access to lots of wiring diagrams.

Unlike the wiring that you have mentioned ours are all wired correctly using no less than 16 Amp tri use British standard wire, all covered in automotive conduit and all appliance connections made using water proof automotive plug connectors.

We also have a separate labelled (-) return wire for every appliance, we don’t cut into the base vehicle wiring and have a resistance test carried out and results recorded on every circuit.

Not wanting to show off !

If you would like me to provide wiring diagrams for appliances you will have to tell me how to up-load them.

I would be very happy to do so.

Surely many convertors and base vehicle manufacturers have all their manuals, wiring diagrams etc on their website going back a fair few years and they can be downloaded as .pdf files onto the computer ?

If you've got a Kindle then use Calibre to convert the .pdf file and your manuals are much easier to read.
