Not a question I just found a really easy way to do it.

I've used a simple free program (irfanview.com) for yonks to do basic stuff with pictures (can't afford owt better) anyway I F1'd it to look at the help, no Annotate in the index, (bugger) then searched for way to do it, Google post seem to think it could be done but didn't find any info on how.

So here's how to do it, open Irfanview, load a jpg (it'll probably do others, but not tried) Use mouse pointer to select the area you want the text to appear (needs a little fine tuning to get it right) then crl+t type in what you like, font control is in same window.

and as they say bish bash bosh, done save (change name) done.

Now tell me that's too long winded and I can do it more easier like, with another free program or within vista, and I already know I can insert it into some of the JGP info file.

Hi Kev,

I take it you mean typing on the actual pic. I use Photoshop but if you look in the free stuff section of this site you'll see a Serif programme that I'll send you if you like, it does more or less the same. I got it as an evaluation copy.

Paint works very well or if you want to do more use paint.net it is a free download and has been compared very favourably with Photoshop,

the one below took me less than one minute....
