Just in case anyone is interested, I've just had Dunlop Air assisted suspension fitted to my new Hobby Siesta Exclusive 650. This is 7m long, has over 2m overhang and is weighbridged full at 3400kg. On first use without these aids, I found it incredibly smooth for a motorhome but occasionally alarmingly soft (side to side sway) when on lumpy fields, high winds or overtaking/overtaken.

My camper is now very stable although a slightly harder drive. I am experimenting with the pressures (were set at 4 bar). When I have the best drive pressure I will reduce the tyre pressures from the max figure set be Ford/Goodyear down to pressures suited to my axle weights.

FRONT TO BACK LIFT
The vehicle without the air assist was 40mm higher at the back. I have measured the extra lift gained at different air spring pressures and get:
0.5 bar + 10mm
1 bar + 20mm
2 bar + 35mm
4 bar + 50mm
7 bar + 90mm

SIDE TO SIDE LIFT
Interestingly setting one side at minimum .5 bar and the other side maximum 7 bar to see what could be gained on a side sloping pitch did not give such good results. (L = +45mm and right = +70mm). A side to side difference of only one inch. This was with the van standing still on my flat drive. The side to side height difference may improve if the van is moved forward and back again to allow the springs to settle. Maybe someone has the answer?
