I have an ex-Sky Panasonic Digibox receiver (no viewing card) and a standard 55cm Dish aerial, could this equipment work when all connected and aerial aligned? Anyone out there tried a similar "Cheapskate" Sat-System?

Yep, I have the same in my van. Worked well at Le Mans last month. But you have to manually tune in Channel 5.

Ray.

I have the same setup but use a standard metal Sky dish on an adapted camera tripod.

A question for Ray (or anyone else). I will be ditching my Sky contract shortly and need to know how to add channels (like 5). I believe you have to know the appropriate channel frequency and insert it. I do not know how to do that, can anyone help?

It might help you out also barmar. Confused

This is for channel 5 but I have the frequencies and symbol rates etc for the other ftv channels The way to do it as follows:•

Go to the 'Services' menu using the remote control and choose option 4 for System Setup then 4 again
for Add Channels.
Type in the frequency 10773 Change Symbol rate to 22 Change FEC to 516
Select 'Find Channels'. Select Five.

Ray.

Just thought I would have another spare Sky box. Often can see them go for one or three Pounds +p&p.

But for some reason they are reaching ten to twenty pounds +p&p.

Odd as many people are moving up to Sky HD etc. But will keep bidding as there is no rush.

Ray.

Hi barmar,

If you go for a freestanding tripod for your dish, you will need some bungees and pegs to stop it being blown over in strong winds. Wink
