I too can recommend MHF Insurance after four years of Safeguard which were highly recommended, good paperwork etc., but never had to use them so can't comment on how good they would have been. Why MHF then - simply the cost - a saving of not far off £200.
Paperwork not as impressive but telephone support excellent and European cover included (but not European breakdown cover which Safeguard did include).
Greenflag breakdown cover cost me £35 for a recent 20 day France trip so unless you intend to do a lot of trips to Europe MHF+Greenflag would almost certainly be cheaper and if you do not intend to go abroad it is obviously better to go MHF rather than pay for cover you won't need with other policies.
I must say I got a lot of quotes before picking MHF and it was easily the cheapest and the range of costs from highest to lowest was well over £200 - Safeguard was not the dearest.
I can add to the praise for MHF (via Aviva) insurance. Both my van and my daughter's were previously insured with Safeguard for around £300 each. On the renewal this time, they were expecting £490 for each!!! I phoned and discussed why and what reductions they could make without any joy. MHF insured each van for £230 including European breakdown cover and with much lower excesses.
Safeguard didn't seem bothered or surprised when we told them we had moved, only mumbled something about " ..... and I suppose you want a no-claims confirmation letter".
What a way to do business!

I have been with NFU for cover until the renewall came in at £400 plus. I too have been quoted a mere £213 for cover with MHF through Aviva. did not need breakdown cover. very helpful on the phone as well.
I can confirm the above comments as I too am new to MHing.
We bought our first MH at the end of May this year, a 2000 Autotrail Cheyenne 635. After getting an initial quote from a company for £695 I thought I would look further. Several phone calls later I tried MHF on their 0800 number.
Very helpfu young lady sorted me out and the deal was done. 12 months cover including Europe with breakdown cover for £265. They even allowd me a NCD based on my car insurance record (no claims)
