Has anyone successfully moved their Omnistor wind-out sun canopy? Since buying our van I have always been irritated by the fact that it was fitted short of the door. This makes the Safari Room a completely separate room, one that you have to go 'outside' to, to access. I have seen sun canopies on the same model MH which have been fitted to cover the door so it is possible but wonder what it would involve to move ours.

Some awings are fitted that way because the door is too high but if that is not the case then it is a two handed job, undo the bolts on the inside whist someone supports from the outside

The above is only a personal opinion
Since owning our van, I have always been irritated by the fact that when the awning is fully extended, you cannot open or close the hab door.
It is only possible to get the awning high enough to clear the door if it is less than half out and the supporting poles are in the clips on the side of the van instead of on the ground
Some vans have special wooden blocks bonded into the bodywork to enable the fitting of an awning. Awnings are heavy beasts, and they must be mounted in the correct position. Carefully check the van body walls where it's mounted now, and where you'd like to mount it.
Yeap, we moved ours along about a foot as it fouled the garage door when we used the safari room.
Our awning sits a channel along its complete length so we just loosened the screws off then pushed it along. The spare channel at the end we cut off, but sliding a piece of aluminium behind it whilst we cut through the channel so as not to mark the van.
