Hi,

Just bought my first MH, a 2007 CI Cipro 85 - this was a private buy - and have got a little problem.

My first outing was ok but at Filey I noticed there was a red flashing light on the control panel so I used the electric hookup for the fridge and lights only. After reading other messages on MHF I think it is something simple, the leisure battery needs replacing. However, there was nothing to refer to in my booklets. I called in at Danum Motorhomes in Askern to ask if I could get one - they are CI authorised agents - they were as helpful as a chocolate fireguard.

Has anyone got any suggestions.

As I am new to this site I need another bit of help, I have tried to get a link to put my own information in under introductions but am getting nowhere, I am not very computer literate and wonder if I am doing something wrong?

When you plug into the electricity, it usually charges up your leisure battery.

Are you sure the electricity was working? Did you try a 13 amp plug to check?

How did you conclude the leisure battery was not working? Did you unplug the electricity and see if the lights were working?

I checked the battery cells which were bone dry and the step would'nt work - hopefully this is the solution but cannot check it until tomorrow.

Hi and welcombe, if the batteries have gone bone dry and total empty, they would normaly be distroyed, as the acid would have boiled dry, but if the batterys have acid in them and it only below the view area which is dry then toping them up with distilled water may well work for you. If the batteries are still no good after a good charge, then you'll need to replace the batterys with something like power max or crown batteries for example..... just my view

Welcome from another Cipro owner.

Which light was flashing on the panel?

Did you press the battery test button to see if the leisure battery was charging?.

The best thing to do is get the battery out of it's holder and give it a good long slow charge after having the fluid level checked and topped up if necessary.

If you do need a new battery I'd recommend one of these - it's what I've fitted as it fits in the battery holder perfectly and allows the lid to go back on something the usual taller 110amp ones don't allow.

http://www.alpha-batteries.co.uk/buy-online/caravan-batteries-boat-batteries-leisure-batteries/12v-ultra-plus-low-height- 110amp-leisure-battery/prod_92.html

No connection to the supplier other than a happy purchaser.

PS tip for Ducato owners - this battery will fit under a Ducato drivers seat instead of the more usual 80 amp/hr one.

Thanks for your info, I think I have sorted it out now. As you are a Cipro 85 owner can you help me with my other problem regarding a booklet telling you what the display panel lights mean. Any help would be appreciated
