Hi all
I am new to motorhoming.. have just purchased a used autotrail cheyenne 630 but am a bit phased by all the instruction booklets, I will be enjoying the freedom of motorhoming once I pluck up the courage to just go for it... If you see a young at heart lone female getting it all wrong on site .... please feel free to offer advice and share a glass of something refreshing
Cheers

Almost anyone on here would be happy to show you the ropes, next time you are on a campsite, park next to another motorhome, say hello and mention you do not know what everything in the van is for and you will have trouble stopping them showing you.
I felt just the same as you when I got mine, and lone female too.
My suggestions:
* go to a Caravan Club site near where you live with a view to staying one night
* pack take away food from M&S (eg salads and cake) to eat so you won't worry if you can't work out the cooker
* pack your sleeping items (duvet etc), towel, overnight bag - so you can sleep - but you'll be able to use the toilet and shower facilities on site if you can't work it all out
Then just go.....
The people on site will help you if you get stuck. You can read the booklets at your leisure, testing each thing one by one.
You can spend time writing lists of things you want to buy and what you want to do, and take it in your leisure.
As people have said just put some shorts on and a low cut top and stand outside your van with one finger on your top lip lokoing puzzled and a plethera of blokes will soon be rushing to your aid and missing their dinner and footy.
No seriously most other MHers will gladly help you as they were probally just the same once.
Good luck and happy times
Phill

... and don't worry if on the first night you wonder what the heck you've done. I felt like that for about 24 hours and now I just want to be away in it all the time.
It all becomes clear in time and the sense of freedom is fantastic.
