I've been reading this great forum for a few years. This is my first post.

I have a CAP 900 dish with UFS 940 & UFS 740 receivers. This weekend, the 740 started to have problems in its channel list. Multiple channels appeared as 0 in the list, along with garbled text.

I switched the receiver off, un/-plugged it and switched it back on. It kepted displaying Kathrein UFS 740 on its display but no image.

I tried it today at home but the same message appears and then nothing. A specialist tried to reflash the device but it failed. Kathrein's software was unable to find the receiver.

Does anyone have any clues?

No problems with the 940 whatsoever, its working like a charm.

Hi the UFS 740 is the main receiver?, so I assume it operates the dish ok? just checking the data is getting to the dish head, and just re checking you can't see any tv programs from it.... i only have the main receiver and use the second LNB for the SKY channels..

The firmware comes from astra1 at 19 east if I recall....

Hi Clive, it was the main receiver and it was unable to operate the dish after I it ran into problems.

I now use the 940 as main receiver and will be buying a cheaper receiver the replace the 740. As I understand from Kathrein, the 740 isn't compatible anymore with TV Vlaanderen (our sat provider in Belgium) and they recommend the 940.

I can send the receiver to Kathrein for repears but it can be up to 100 euros to have it repaired.
