Hi all, Can someone recommend a reliable alarm system for my 2 year old Kontiki and someone to fit it South Wales. I'm looking around but would prefer a recommendation as I wan tit to cover the side lockers as well as the doors as you can get access to the interior from them. I'm happy to fit one myself if anyone can recommend a suitable, reliable system.
Sure one of you will have an answer fairly soon.

Hi
try www.kits-n-bits.com they do alarms they came to my house and fitted a towbar to my van very pleased with the job and he is a nice guy to deal with. He only lives around the corner from me, if you ring out of hours it goes straight to his house.

Peter.

The perfect answer is on this forum...

There's a specialist firm called VanBitz, just down the road from you, near Taunton. Here's the web-link:

http://www.vanbitz.com/

The owner is Eddie, a very well respected member of MHF. The beauty of visiting his workshop is that he also has a wonderful campsite next door. If you are visiting on business, then your overnight stay is FOC!

My wife and I did a 580 mile round trip in December 2007 just to try out our new motorhome and have her alarmed PROPERLY. The whole system, which has never failed, cost less than 1% of the cost of the motorhome.

Have a look at the website; give them a call. You will be impressed.

There... How's that for a recommendation? Wink Oh, there's hundreds on MHF who have done a similar visit. Wink

Tanks both, I'd heard of the Vanbitz system but never really read into it. Sounds very impressive and I'll give them a call to discuss it further. Thanks UncleNorm for the advice. I'll let you know which way I go.

worth mentioning that the inclusion of a microwave sensor has a few advantages....

It can be fitted out of sight as the microwaves pass through things..

they dont false alarm..

they are available as a dual sensor thus one can be set to give a perimeter warning that will deter a theif from attempting to break in and damage a door or window in the process...

Hi there

I personal messaged you yesterday, but I can see you didn't read it yet as it is still in my outbox.

Good luck with you purchase, sounds like VanBitz have a good set up with campsite!

Anyone used leisure power the northern fitting agent for Strikeback. I wanted to get system fitted before I go away and the Taunton place is closed for holidays. Warrington is a long way to go from Cardiff, especially if I have any problems in the future.

I haven't used Leisure Power before but have no reason to believe they're poor if Eddie has taken them on. If the distance troubles you however feel free to get in touch and I'll organise for a fit to take place at your home.
