We have had our camos dome for about two and a half years now and very good it's been as well.

We have recently re visited a few spots we went to in Europe whent it was new and Im sure it's not quite as good. In northern Italy and south eastern France on two aires reception was better than it is now. Skys have been clear and I know in a few places in the edge of the footprint it's not been quite as good this time.

It also works better in the day time than evening.

It's not a big issue but I'm sure I heard some sat tech on here say they need fine tuning after a bit

anyone experienced the same thing

Satellite reception is always better during the day than in the evening once you get near the edge of the footprint and this applies to all satellite dishes. I won't go into the (possible) reasons here.

It could be that the transmission strength of the satellite that you're aiming at has reduced slightly and that is why you are not picking up channels now that you were two and a half years ago. I know this might sound odd but the fact is that satellites have a limited lifetime and do become less efficient as they get older.

It's not a normal procedure to fine-tune a dome or any other satellite system after a period of time - not as far as I know anyway. It is possible to fiddle with the software and make changes there but the only part of any satellite dish than can be significantly "tuned" is the LNB which can be adjusted for best performance in different locations. This procedure is called skewing and some satellite dishes - including the new RoadPro models - are available with auto-skew which avoids the need to climb on the roof of a vehicle and fiddle about with a screwdriver.

It may well be that, if you were to adjust the skew setting on your dome, that would make a difference.

If you are able to visit RoadPro, we can check your system for you and fix anything that needs fixing.

Andy

Cheers Andy for the comprehensive answer that even I can understand.

We moved 100 miles west and it's all perfect now.
