I've got a self build LDV Maxus motorhome (I' did n't build it myself). Since I bought it in March I've been dealing with a long list of problems including dodgy gas system, bad wiring, water leaks..I guess that why it was cheap! Anyway, I need some advice about the water system. its got external fresh and waste water in a system more usually found in a caravan, although I understand quite often used in self bulds to save space. To cut a long story short, Ihave a problem with the bathroom taps..in that they do n't work! When I turn the tap, the pump turns on but no water comes out. The kitchen taps work ok, when I turn the bathroom taps on there are no water leaks evident and the pump is trying to pump but the water level in the tank is not going down so the water is not being sucked up. All I can think is that there must be a blockage somewhere..but neither the hot or cold taps work..so that would be strange. Do n't think its anything to do with the wiring or polarity as the pump is n't running backwards..I can see the pipes..as they run under the van and there is no sign of a blockage and they are all correctly attached etc.
Any of you kind folk got any ideas?
Your problem might be an air lock in the pipes to the bathroom tap. I would suggest turning the pump off, removing the tap and the pipes from it, and lowing them as much as possible, then try turning the pump on.
They might have isolator taps or non return valves that have been fitted the wrong way round.
Try blowing down the taps. If you turn off the pump or 12volt system open the kitchen taps and blow down the bathroom tap, if it is block you will soon know. Then if it is you will have to work your way along the pipe from the pump to find the cause.

Thanks both..I'll have a good look at the weekend and try your suggestions. I forgot to mention that when I first got the van, the taps did work in the bathroom..Since then lots of work has been done by both myself and a gas fitter/electrician and now I have this issue. I think thats probably means an airlock is more likely..
Oh gawd..So took apart most of my bathroom on Saturday in order to disconnect the taps and check for airlocks. Strangely enough the water was getting through to the taps no problem..hmmm..how strange thought I!
Yep..the showerhead/tap had be turned to the 'off' position..what a plum.
Still thought I'd post in case anyone is searching for solutions to similar problems..
