Can anyone help please?!!
We've just bought a secondhand Rapido 996M with a Toad catagory 1 alarm fitted about a year and a half ago but no user instructions provided. The vehicle unlocks/disarms successfully using the Toad remote but within approx. one minute the alarm re-arms itself (even with the door open or the keys in the ignition). Any movement within the van sets off the sensors.

Can anyone help us resolve this problem please and a copy of the user instructions would be really helpful too!

Thanks in advance.

Tony & Shirley

If you set the alarm off, you need to press the button twice to disable it.

Scroll up to the top of the page and you will see a cartoon camper. Beside the camper is a box and in the box is New post, your posts, your topics, and personal messages.

Click on the personal message (pm). and another page will open with you message it will also tell you if you have the sound on that you have a pm.

Also on the replies you get at the top of each reply is a thankyou button to thank the poster, some people think it is for decoration only.

We have the same alarm and it does the same thing.

We solve it by - straight after disarming the alarm using the remote fob, we open and close the passenger door just before we enter via habitation door - seems to work!

On the odd occasion it doesn't work - we just fire up the engine then switch it off again - this always works!

Hi Tony and Ann,

That's how it's supposed to work.

As others have said, release the alarm, open and shut a door and it will stay unset.

Thanks to everyone for your answers and to Andy for explaining about personal messages etc.

We're now wondering what the procedure is for locking the van when in occupation without the risk of setting the alarm off when moving around inside. Is there a way of using the central locking without setting the alarm?

Does anyone have a basic user manual that sets out simply how to use the alarm on a daily basis please?

many thanks
Tony and Shirley

If you arm the alarm twice (lock once and press the lock button again) it should turn off the interior protection, which would allow you to be in the van without the alarm going off.

Poleman is absolutely correct.

Press the arming button once and then press the SAME button again within, I think, ten seconds. This leaves the perimeter alarm set, but disables the internal sensors.

Toad have a good website, and I'm sure you could get a manual from there.
