If your Rapido is the latest Sprinter 996M, you can have Mercedes comand fitted and have the reversing camera connected to that.

I would also be interested in a double din entertainment/sat nav/bluetooth unit that can be used as the screen for the reversing camera (New Burstner IXEO)

Have hust purchased a Snooper Truckmate S7000 Satnav - this has a nice 7inch screen ad can automatically switch to reversing camera if this is switched by the reversing light feed. I am suitably impressed with the whole set up.

Bought from Lemon Digital in Trowbridge, Wiltshire

Hi,

We have the Garmin 7200 SAT NAV Unit (7" Screen) and though I suppose it is all down to personal opinion, I doubt as I could have a better set up system for my own requirements.

We went for the NTSC (American) version as this also allows you to send the audio output to a FM Frequency that you can preset (we tend to use 107.9). This then means the audio prompts are nice and loud (and clear) using the in car entertainment system.

We also have all our favourite Albums (circa 500 songs per SD Card) that we can play using the Garmin whilst driving, but when an announcement is made, the song is paused and the directions are given.

This is also then coupled in with the rear view camera, I decided I may want to use it as a "Mirror" whilst over taking lorries and the likes, so with the aid of the Garmin Dead Reckoning cable, when I want to see the input from the Camera on the Garmin, I simply flick the switch I have installed next to my left hand indicator stalk. This takes a fraction of a second to show me the rear view image.

If I decide I want to leave it on for long periods, I just leave the switch depressed and it will keep the image on, until another direction is required when the unit will automatically show me the upcoming direction on screen.

The audio function is not available on the UK version of the Garmin. I presume there are now newer systems that can do the same (and possibly more), but it is definitely worth a look at.

We also have some other add ons such as the Traffic Alert to keep us informed of any roadworks / blackspots etc. This can be took a step further and used to inform you of the weather and even the price of your shares if you so desired.

GOOD LUCK

I have the newer Garmin/Kenwood DNX5260BT- directions are loud and clear, routing is rubbish- look for another model. Sony now do one with TomTom routing.
