I have spent a frustrating week trying to sort out the installation of 2 solar panels on the roof of a Bessacarr E560 2010 model.

The Motorhome comes with a waterproof terminal box on the roof and is pre wired to connect into a Sargent EC 400 series PSU with all the necessary connectors in place.

Should be simple - NO

I need a 2 metre cable fitted at one end with a waterproof connector to connect to the connector on the roof, the other end M & F MC4 connectors to connect to the solar panels.

Also 2 plain connectors for inside to connect to the existing preinstalled connectors for wiring into the solar controller.

Sargent were on holiday shutdown ( when I most needed them) so I consulted Sargent's site and got a download of the wiring schematics. I could see what I needed but could not find the relevant bits on Sargent's products list.

I then searched the internet for relevant cables connects etc. and could not find a suitable cable ( I do not have the equipment to make my own)

When Sargent returned from holiday I conacted Tech services at who surprisingly could not offer off the shelf parts. They are fortunately prepared to make a lead up for me and post it out.

I'm just surprised that with the number of Swift Motorhome sold with the prewiring already installed this seems to be problematical.

Hopefully Sargent will be on the ball and get something sorted for the future
