Hi We are going to buy a Humax PVR 93000T as a present but have been told it is out of date. Would it still be worth buying. We have this model & the PVR 200T & both are still working perfectly (oh dear shouldn,t have said that) Laughing

Humax have a good repuation and backup...
Remember that software can be updated to include and "fixes" or improvements.
I did my Foxsat HDR last night to allow me to now get BBC Iplayer etc..

If it's a model you are already familar with then your in a good position to help the new owners with set up and operation..

We have had a 9200 for a fair few years now and it has it's faults and updates/correction due to the switch over did take 8 months!!!
Saying that we did just buy a Humax FoxSat HDR as it does things that most of the others dont. Like it does BBCi player and now ITV player!! It is good but there are niggly faults that have been created in the last update 6 weeks ago that still have not been fixed. i.e. the guide button allows you to look a the guide but not record from it!!!

Overall Humax are the biggest company making Freeview and FreeSat boxes.

They are nice easy to use and generally reliable. Very easy to teach people to use if necessary. The 9300 is a bit outdated and wont do Freeview HD (but that is only 4 channels).
I would say if its cheap (look on Humaxdirect site) then it's a good buy.

We bought the Humax PVR 9300T last Christmas. Was undecided as needed to replace a Digifusion FVRT 200 which had been rendered useless due to the cessation of the programming guide transmission on Freeview channel 300.

However any concerns quickly vanished on purchase. The Humax has done everything required without any problems. Very happy so far.

Got a good deal from Richer Sounds & took out the supercare 5 year extended warrantee as it included a money back clause, if no claim made in the 5 year period, you get your money back.

At least Humax update their software with all the changes that are going on, that is more than can be said for Sony and Panasonic.
