Can anyone tell me how the sky+ app on my iphone communicates with my sky box. Ie when I tell it to record a program, it says done. Does it use satellite or the phone line?

Bob

Hi Bob,

It must be satellite.

I have the app and use it alot. The Sky fitter never put the phone line in. he wanted to feed the wires around 3xdoor frames then along the skirt. I told him to cancel the order and he just left the phone cable on the floor so never had phone connection in 14yrs.

Yes phone cable is only insisted on if you have multiroom. This is to make sure you havn't given your extra boxes to neighbours. It is more likely that your mobile communicates with terestrial mobile phone network and Sky then tell your box what to do

Thanks guys, Tech I have multiroom but the boss does not want phone cables everywhere. So we removed them. The reason I posted was Sky+ does not now work on my iphone4 and I thought it was because I removed the phone cables.
Ho hum

Bob

Sky will know that the phone cables are not plugged in and this may be a response by them.
