I run a 90 watt solar panel and an 80 watt wind turbine (at the same time) off a 7.5 amp regulator. The ammeter has shown maximum amps a few times without a problem.
According to the technical literature that came with the wind turbine, a 100 watt solar is permissable.

Just looking for some guidance, Im about to order a 165w solarfun panel that comes with a 10amp regualor, will this regulator be sufficient ?
many thanks in advance.....
ps the panel i note is 15kg , i hope the roof can take it,
any feedback on the solarfun branded panels would be equally appreciated ?
many thanks
charlie
As already said, 10A reg should be ok However I think a 165W panel is right for fitting a MPPT controller. A 15A MPPT controller would give around 10% more in summer and 25% more output in winter when you need it most - just my thoughts..

Many thanks for the replies. On reflection, I will try and upgarde the controller to MPPT, as their seems to be some decent deals on them at the moment.
