Hi, is there any way I can improve the EPG on my Zenner free to air sat box? On recent trip to France (not able to get newspapers) it was frustrating not to be able to find out what was on TV for the evening.

At present about half of channels show nothing on the EPG. Half show current programmes only and of those half if you are lucky will also show the next one.

Otherwise happy with the receiver, not interested in 7day EPG or anything like that just the basic. I’ve tried the manual but it’s in German. Rolling Eyes

Most FTA recievers will only show "now and next" programme information, as that information is available on all frequencies and should be on all UK channels also.

Sky and Freesat boxes use their own datastream, readable by their own receivetrs only.

If you want more than "now and next" then you will need a freesat box, a sky box, or search for a FTA receiver that you can import a plug in to read the sky epg data - i have only heard of them and not actually seen one in action..

As SatandPCGuy said, you need a Freesat, or a Sky box. You can get a Free to Air Card from Sky (£20ish) that will enable a sky box to receive channels and give you a 7 day guide.

There seems to be only 2 options on guides. Now and Next or 7 Day EPG.

If you have internet access then this site may help http://www.tvguide.co.uk/

No card is requried for free to air channels.
No card is required for a 7 day EPG on a Sky box.

A Freesatfromsky card (or "free to view card") will allow you to access the "free to view" channels using a sky box. These FTV channels currently are:

Some ITV1 regions on freq 12402
Some ITV1 regions on freq11973 (good south beam for most of europe)
Irish C4s on 12480
3 Five regions
Five*, Five USA + timeshifts
Viva TV
Motors TV
Liverpool FC TV
Sony TV
Pick TV.
