Just about to take delivery of one of the above Excel 640 van and will be fitting a solar panel

My previous motorhome had wires from the panel to the input of a 10 amp regulator and then from the output to the battery so was very simple and it worked!

I was wondering if there is an alternative way of wiring a panel into the existing motorhome wiring and control panel of a 640 with or without a separate regulator and if so how?

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of sticking the brackets for the solar panel onto the roof with Silkaflex 512 or similar thus avoiding self tapping screws or pop rivets too?

The only reason I do this is because I'm not prepared to pay £12.50 for the privilege of sharing MY information so all will be posted where freely available

Mine were just stuck on using Sikaflex and I had no issues.

I think that on auto trails you can get a lead that plugs into the control panel and no regulator is required.
Thats how it was on our 96 Cheyenne.
If it's a Sargent unit he will know for sure.

Yes just need Sikaflex to bond Solar Panel Brackets to roof and then a Cable obtainable from sergeant which plugs into Control panel and as stated No regulator needed as it is pre installed.
