Hi i'm asking for advice again! but this is what is so good about this site - somebody has always got an answer to my many queries. I searched on here to see if i could find any interactions but i so far, haven't found any, hence my posting

I am trying to put a picture into my avatar and i have a macbook with iPhoto - i put the picture into my Dropbox and the follow the steps for adding a pic into my avatar on mhf - a message comes up telling me to reduce the size of the pic but, help i can't find out how to reduce the pic - so no avatar picture for you all to see

Hi

The easiest way to do it is to open the picture in "Preview", and then go to "Tools" and "Adjust size" to make it fit. I think the maximum avatar size is 160 X 160 pixels.

Hi,

I'm a fairly new Macbook user and I have found that it is easy to reduce a photo for web use in iphoto:

Select the photo in the album view then click on File - export

In the dialogue box check File export option then try different options of jpg quality and size giving the file a new name each time and saving to a suitable folder.

Once exported you can check the reduced photos to pick a suitable pixel size and file size.

I'm sure there are other ways to achieve this Smile

Steve
