Hi Folks!

I want to get the above whilst it's still at the sale price. However, I can't get any sense out of the sales assistants and Sunncamp Tecchies are in the middle of an office move.

The bumf says it fits up to 260cm rail - but it would need to fit to my panel van's Fiamma front edge, which has a groove for awning insertion.

Q's: Is this groove safe to fit it to?

The above groove is approx 190cms from ground - does this awning have a height below which it cannot be fitted?

If it can be fitted - I'm concerned that in getting the sides to 'meet' the van, I will be left with lots of fabric from rail fixing hanging immediately above the sliding door. (I am not able enough to put it over the van to fix on other side). How to tidy it out of the way?

Sorry for being a bit convoluted - but I can see me buying something that won't work!

Lots of thanks,

- Helena x

The awning rail that you describe at 190cm may be a bit low. The awnings I have seen usually give the minimum and maximum height and lots seem to about 230 to 250 or 260. I guess you would end up with some of the awning still on the floor which would create difficulties in pegging it down.
Just my thoughts as you have had no other replies but maybe someone with more experience will be along to comment. At least this will bump the topic backk nearer the top.
Dave

Edit, I see its a drive away awning so I guess the sides on the tunnel bit would be loose unless there is some way of fixing them down tighter to the ground. And yes all the adverts only seem to give the max height of 260, no reference to a minimum height.

Thank you so much guys. We have been to get it and the comments were all correct and very helpful.

I don't think the 8 rail is compatible with my old fashioned lift out Fiamma. I think it needs another bit of fitting kit "J?". However, I'm only 1 min from Towsure where I got it and will take the van down and haunt them.

Meanwhile, I reckon I might just be able to guide the guy ropes over the van with a collapsible clothes prop, all supposing it's possible to do it on this small model awning.

My joints are not good enough for throwing and contortions!

What's the thing about sunshine. Have I got to wait for it to bucket down before I can use it?

Sorry to hear about your difficulties Kenny.

I will be doubly careful with it - as I can see a no refund 'own fault' looming!!!!
