A friend has a Kathrein cap900 which was working perfectly , then he let his brother stay in the van for one night ,and he must have pushed all the wrong buttons ,because now the dish will not find astra 28.2 or any other sat ,it just keeps turning until it says cant find sat,
The van has been in the same position for 2 weeks so it is not that there is no clear sight of sat as it work perfect till his brother got his hands on remote,
Anyone with any ideas would be much appreciated

Its difficult trying to be helpful from here, If I was in the UK maybe I could meet up with you and take a look but i'm in Spain so no go.
Sometimes my system seems to take a bit longer to find the sats so I go into the menu and reset it so it has to again look for the sats and lock on which I think it does by using signal quality, then next time its very quick as they are saved so the gps can assist. Maybe your best plan is to call Roadpro as it could have developed a fault and they are the ones best able to fix it. If its anywhere near Daventry then arrange a visit to them, I'm confident Mark will sort it in no time

Think got problem solved , I drove to were my friends van , put my dish up and read the antenna settings of my dish ,Elevation, azimut and skew and manually entered them into his system and the sat was found , then put the dish in park and started it up again and this time it found the sat by itself, we moved his van to the other end of the field and tried again , dish went up and found sat in its normal time, all seems well , hope it stays that way

thanks for all input

That's interesting. Something to remember if it ever happens to us and maybe a different way of resetting the antenna rather than the way I use as per my last post. I think the GPS sometimes gets confused ?
