hi,

just picked a culinaire battery operated slicer from home bargains,£3.99, we just got it home and tried it out,works really great,not as good as a proper mains,all singing and dancing,but i think it will be ideal for making spanish tortilla etc,

and it julienne,s as well,so you can make coleslaw, and things like that,it takes 4 battries,if you have rechargeables you would be able to use them,as you can tell,it dosent take a lot to make me happy.
