hi all we are going to camping cabapino near malaga for 6 weeks starting in december then moving on to camping rosaleda for6 weeks is it possible to get a television picture with an oyster 85 digital sat dish if not can anyone tell me how much it would cost to rent a dish in each area cheers for any replies gazburger
Using a basic TV aerial and a digital terrestrial recewiver you should be able to recene the Spanish digital channels.
And yes you will get some UK TV channels.
However reception of the channels on Astra 2d - BBC1,2,3,4,ITV1,2,3,4,c4,e4,m4 - may be restricted by the size of your dish in those locations. I think in malaga a 1.25m dish is more or less minimum for decent recption of these channels.
Still there are about 50+ other free to air channels that you should be able to receive.
Will an English terrestrial receiver pick up Spanish terrestrial TV always thought they are set to different frequencies.
Great if they do as you can change the language on most of the films provided the receiver has the language option.
Hi
you will need at least 1.2 M dish and very high s/n ratio LNB to get half decent signal in Malaga from Astra 2D.
I have 1.3m dish at my house good LNB and receiver and still lose signal sometimes in the evening.

Yes.
But some may not scan all the frequencies - like freq 69 - which is not used in the UK...but many you can change the countyr settings so ch69 is scanned.

There was always an issue with osound on the analogue systems, where a UK TV in Spain would not have the correct PAL sound setting, and so you got no sound.
With digitial this is not an issue.

Its just a question of flicking thru the EPG and seeing when a good film is on.
Unfortunatley sometimes the EPG just says "Film", with no indication as to what film it is!!!
